Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore

Facoltà di Economia

The Faculty of Economics places significant importance on its graduate degree programmes and is committed to providing educational excellence. As stated in the syllabus, we have a strong preference for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary studies with a cultural approach, an aspect that has always been the distinctive feature of the Faculty of Economics at Università Cattolica.

Rigor and value: the principles upheld by the Faculty of Economics

Rigour means an academic challenge that supports students as they learn, grow and develop a critical understanding of the economy as a result of a close and constant relationship between research and teaching, highly-qualified teaching staff, a scientific reputation as one of the best international schools of economics worldwide, first-class teaching and learning, a solid syllabus and the quality and breadth of our programmes, from the undergraduate and graduate degree programmes to specialising master and doctoral ones. Human values represent the founding principle upon which this cultural proposal is built: we see the economy as being “at the service of mankind”. This is the principle that lies at the core of the cultural legacy of our Faculty. Economic activity is shaped by individual responsibility, by those who make decisions. This responsibility requires an organic development of the individual and of the communities to which he/she belongs.

As regards the teaching offer, all of this translates into a balance between a strong multidisciplinary basis on the one hand  and programmes focusing on the evolution of the social, economic, national and international context on the other. Economics students will gain in-depth knowledge of business, economic, law, mathematics and statistics, combining areas of study and learning methods that will enable them to face, with their own integrated perspective, economic problems relating to institutional and corporate relations, planning and changing management.

Group tutoring, seminars, internships, study experiences abroad in top European, American, Asian and African universities, e-learning technologies, plus opportunities for students already in employment to enrol in late afternoon-evening programmes: these solutions facilitate completion of the university study course within a set time and reinforce a positive, continuous and solid relationship with the labour market, the business world and professional associations.
